Curry: “We Have to Win Regardless of Opponent in Play-In”
In a hard-fought battle against the Trail Blazers, the Warriors didn’t secure the win until the fourth quarter, even facing a threat of trailing on the scoreboard. However, once again, Stephen Curry, known as the “Baby-Faced Assassin,” stepped up, scoring 8 crucial points and dishing out 3 assists in key moments, leading the Warriors to a 16-1 run and clinching their third consecutive victory.
Curry’s Clutch Performance
“Curry has done this countless times, so I’m not surprised. Obviously, it wasn’t his best shooting night, but he still hit some key shots down the stretch,” said Warriors head coach Steve Kerr.
Curry, however, admitted it was a poor performance on his part, stating, “I missed a lot of shots from different spots. They came out with a lot of energy, disrupted us, and their strategy worked well for the first 42 minutes of the game.”
Additionally, Curry praised Kevon Looney for stepping up, stating, “He was fantastic, protecting the rim, rebounding, scoring in the paint, and holding his own against Deandre Ayton in crucial moments.”
Curry’s Career Milestone
With today’s game, Curry has now made a total of 4,358 three-pointers in his regular season and playoff career, surpassing second-place Ray Allen by a whopping 1,000 threes.
Warriors’ Playoff Push
After securing their third consecutive win, the Warriors have climbed to ninth place in the Western Conference, tied with the Lakers and the Kings, with no difference in wins. Tomorrow’s back-to-back matchup against the Pelicans will be a crucial game that could impact their standings.
Curry’s Focus on Winning
“Our mission hasn’t changed, which is to win the next game. While we may not completely control our destiny, winning gives us a chance to improve our position. We also need to maintain high spirits through victories, which will affect our play-in next week. Regardless of the opponent or venue,” emphasized Curry.
Looney added, “Our road performances have been solid, but now it’s time to defend our remaining two home games. We know we’re capable of winning anywhere.” (Lvbet)
